Dead Certain is an ongoing body of work built on a commitment to methodological pluralism, investigating what fine art practice, particularly collage, can contribute to how we understand and act on complex topics. On a personal level, Dead Certain is a commitment to sense-making through making. My work celebrates the personal as political, which feels even more true given that I work in public policy. Six early collages from this body of work are presented below, alongside documentation of the creative and technical development behind each.

FLOATING FORMS (MAY 2026) REFLECTIONS ON MY FIRST PUBLIC BODY OF WORK SINCE 2012

When I was selected for Floating Forms at the Paxton Centre, I decided to bring several open ideas and unfinished collages nearer to completion. Thinking about "floating forms," the circle came to mind — sun, moon, sphere, the eye. I treated the circle as a frame to contain my thoughts and capture my perspective; you could read each one on the wall as a thought bubble. The format already existed in one earlier collage, but it needed company, so I cut back into my archive and let fragments move between pieces until no single work stayed fixed.
